PRESS RELEASE

UK producer Criterion’s animated series “Biker Mice From Mars” wins prestigious 2009 Daytime Emmy.

London (Wednesday, 02 September 2009) “Biker Mice from Mars” produced by Criterion from Kingston in Surrey won a prestigious Emmy at the THE 36th ANNUAL DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT CREATIVE ARTS EMMY® AWARDS in LA last Saturday (August 29 2009).

The series, created by Rick Ungar, aired on GMTV & ITV2 in The UK from 2006 to 2008. It is now airing in many other countries round the world including The USA where it launched on 4Kids on Fox in August 2008.
The award was earned by voice actor Jim Ward for an outstanding spoof improvisation of four famous US politicians in the guise of the “The Crusher"; the destroyer of The Biker Mice’s' prized motorcycles in the episode "Here Come The Judge".
The award is a tribute not just to Jim's amazing voice talent but to the whole team especially TomT (Tom Tataranowicz) whose story editing & voice direction was key to delivering the Emmy winning performance. The winning Episode, actually written by Creator Rick Ungar, is a high octane "toon” with a script filled with rich satirical references. In the winning performance Jim Ward delivers in his best President Nixon voice, a throwaway line.... "Those two choppers (bikes) disappeared just like eighteen minutes of tape!" Ted Bather (CEO of Criterion) said. “That line creases me up every time I hear it.  It is the kind of line that still has Internet forums discussing the meaning of the scripts from the original series that aired on "The Big Breakfast” in The UK in the 1990's.”

About Jim Ward

Jim Ward is the guy you don't often see but is heard daily on over 60 radio stations in North America on the Stephanie Miller Show. He is known as the "voice deity"; a master of spot on impressions - no one does Jack Nicholson, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Sean Connery, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Rush Limbaugh - to name just a few - better than Jim. He has also been an original voice in a countless number of cartoons, video games, commercials, TV and film for over 25 years. His Emmy is for his character of The Crusher in the cartoon Biker Mice from Mars (4Kids on FOX) - doing
what he does best - Voice impressions.

New series of Biker Mice From Mars Races to Number One slot on launch weekend on Toonattik

London (Friday, 01 September 2006) “Biker Mice from Mars” produced by Criterion kicked off to a roaring start on its launch weekend on Toonattik on GMTV in The UK.

The first three episodes were scheduled across the Bank Holiday weekend of August 26-28.

The audience grew consistently across the 3 episodes and the Monday episode proved to be the most watched show of the whole weekend on Toonattik on GMTV.

Biker Mice From Mars is a comedic blend of highly charged action, and “Rock N’ Ride” attitude which pushes the boundaries by having some fun with iconic business and political figures from around the world. The action takes place against a backdrop of our planet under threat by all villains, including the control seeking “Catatonians” led by Hairball & Cataclysm who join forces with a USA based, overweight real estate developer with a bad haircut.

The new series on Toonattik consists of 26 episodes and runs into 2007.
