| Whilst our core business is in the creation and management of rights that we own, or in which we have an equity, we are always interested in looking for new properties. Intellectual Property Development, Property Creation & Animation. We make a very clear differentiation between development concepts and marketable property rights. Below is a checklist of what we would need you to be sure about before we can appraise a property.
Ø Treatment Ø Full chain of title. If this is either complex or not clean to our satisfaction we will not proceed any further. Ø Rights owner's involvement objectives in the production. This to include personnel/studio requirements if any, plus resumes of proscribed personnel and facilities. Ø Proposed Financing Scenario outlining investment required & equity/rights available. Ø The Business Plan. If not a one page synopsis of the rights owners aspirations for the property. We will always be happy to sign a Confidentiality Agreement but will expect this to also incorporate a Release Agreement. Rights Management We can evaluate the potential of properties and portfolios for International exploitation potential. We always give a realistic evaluation of the true commercial potential of rights. Regrettably we find far too often that rights owners have ambitious expectations of the licensing & merchandising value of their properties. We are not in the business of providing potential forecasts to satisfy investors - we will always give a carefully considered written evaluation of what we believe to be the commercial potential, including detailed forecasts and assumptions. Broadcast Sales We act as agents for UK and/or European distribution of a number of major properties. We usually work in association with Indigo Film & Television Sales Ltd who will also handle ex-European rights. Indigo has a stand at most major markets including The Asian Film Market, MIP & MIPCOM which we attend alongside them. Our strategic approach is always market driven rather than product led. We evaluate any property and asses which broadcast slots it could fit and whether the property would realistically achieve the targets broadcasters have for the identified slot. As agents we expect fair remuneration for the work undertaken. If a property has already been presented in any market we reasonably expect a full written report of activity to date. In such circumstances we can either act as strategic consultants to a repitch, or as agents we would expect a rewards based commission structure that reflects the complexity of the task.
